Every now and then at the weekend we go to Hönningen and after the lockdown we discovered the restaurant Sonnseite. Yesterday we went to eat there for the first time. The service was very good and the quality of the food was absolutely convincing. We had the opportunity to speak to the operator. The ingredients are from the region, you can taste it. Delicious wine and deep fryers are available from the neighboring Stadtweingut Bad Hönningen, among others. I especially liked the pumpkin soup as a starter yesterday. The price-performance ratio is excellent. The entire facility is individual and differs very positively from the restaurant chains. Everything bears the operator's own signature, i.e. a personal touch. This makes the atmosphere incredibly pleasant. We immediately reserved for next Saturday✌️

We were passing through and the restaurant was recommended to us by the local wine merchant. At first we thought: of course, that he recommends it, where you sell his wines. But no, it was really, really good. We tried our way through the menu with vitello tonnato, cheese spaetzle, Hönninger platter with the best fried potatoes, raspberry tiramisu and a really great williams at the end. We went there for dinner today. While passing through we decided on this restaurant and that was a good thing. The service, probably the boss, was super friendly. Of course we sat outside in this great weather. Delicious wine and spritzer to quench your thirst. We took tarte flambée and the dish of the day with fish and it was delicious. Price performance are ok. There are also appealing meat dishes. Just try. If it were near me, I would go there more often.

Have been here for the second time with our son and we all felt really comfortable. The food was really delicious and we left nothing behind. We liked the regional and seasonal idea of ​​the dishes. Even if the way is a bit further, we will definitely come back to try the other things on the menu. We look forward to the next visit. P.S .: Nearby there is a great playground on the Rhine where our little one had a lot of fun.
